Tomorrow (Saturday 23rd April) the 62nd edition of the SportMalta Awards Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali will be organised. In the last few days, the Malta Sports Journalists Association and SportMalta collaborated intensely together to organise this year’s edition, which will be again transmitted live on TVM News+, starting at 20:45.

The voting process for this year has already been completed as the jury panel selected by the Malta Sports Journalists Association has already cast their votes the result of which will be announced during the final night.

There are eight standard categories in total: Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Youth Athlete of the Year—Male, Youth Athlete of the Year—Female, Team of the Year, Official of the Year, Coach of the Year and the People’s Choice Award. During the final night, the International  Event of the Year, an award specifically chosen by the Malta Sports Journalists Association, will be  given to the  association or federation that organised an international high level event in our country.

Amongst the guests attending this occasion there will be the Minister responsible for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Hon. Clifton Grima, and SportMalta’s CEO, Mark Cutajar, together with the highest officials of the Malta Sports Journalists Association and two special international guests – AIPS Vice President (International Federation for Sport Media) Iannis Daras and Cyprus Sports Journalists Association President Erodotos Miltiadous.
