The President and all members of the Malta Sports Journalists Association express their empathy for the loss of Louis Borg, ex President of the Malta Basketball Association (MBA) and ex Vice President of the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC). He also served as MOC’s Technical Director for various editions of the Olympic Games and Mediterranean Games. He died at the age of 85.
Borg was one of the founding members of the (MBA) and introduced the FISEC Games to Malta, way back in 1967.
He was the President of the Malta Handball Association for 25 consecutive years, where he was also the founder of this same association.
Louis Borg was also a senior lecturer at the University of Malta and was the first president of the Academy for Physical Education.
MOC’s President, Julian Pace Bonello and Andrew Decelis, Director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sport at the University of Malta, who worked together with Borg for many years, were among the first to send condolonces to the Borg family.
