The Malta Football Association extends its congratulations to Sandro Micallef on his election as President of the Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports (GħĠS) during the association’s Annual General Meeting, held on Monday. “On behalf of the Malta FA, I would like to congratulate Sandro Micallef on his election as the new president of the Malta Sports Journalists Association as well as the members who have been elected to the association’s Executive Committee,” Norman Darmanin Demajo, the Malta FA President, said. “The Malta Sports Journalists Association represents the members of the sports media in our country, a sector that enjoys the full respect and support of the Malta FA. “We believe that the relationship between the MFA and the Malta Sports Journalists Association has grown stronger over the past seven years and, going forward, it’s our intention to further consolidate this rapport.”

Sandro Micallef is the new President of the Malta Sports Journalists Association after he has been elected in the Association’s Annual General Meeting held on Monday 10th July. He replaces long serving President Charles Camenzuli who had recently resigned from the post after being elected in his new role as AIPS Europe President and AIPS Vice President during the 80th AIPS Congress in South Korea. Although Micallef was the only candidate for the post of President he asked the members present at the General Meeting to confirm their trust in him through a secret vote which resulted in 30 votes in favour, 1 vote against and 1 abstention. In his last address as outgoing President Charles Camenzuli emphasized on the need of continuity at the helm of the Malta Sports Journalists Association remarking that Micallef has now the responsibility to lead the newly elected executive committee to the 50 years [...]

L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports tingħaqad mal-pajjiżi affiljati mal-Assoċjazzjoni Dinjija tal-Media tal-Isport billi tfakkar il-Jum Dinji tal-Ġurnaliżmu tal-Isport. L-argumenti attwali dwar il-‘fair play’ , il-kunċett ta’ parteċipazzjoni minn kull min iħobb l-isport, il-ġlieda kontra d-doping u r-razziżmu kif wkoll il-ġlieda għal sport nadif u nieqes minn korruzzjoni u tbagħbis ta’ riżultati huma fatturi li l-media tal-isport trid taħdem dwarhom biex teduka u tkun ta’ sors ta’ riferenza għal kull min isegwi programmi jew paġni tal-isport fil-ġurnali.
