AIPS condemns threat to Al Jazeera and BeIn

The AIPS Executive Committee, during a teleconference on Monday, assessed the peremptory request of the coalition of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt and UAE for Qatar to shut down Al Jazeera and all its connected networks including the sports network BeIn, and unanimously ruled that such a demand is in no way acceptable. AIPS will never accept the principle that politics can limit the freedom of expression and free initiative in the field of information in any part of the world. As has been emphasized, the sports media cannot be subjected to any condition by any authority who wants to control it. Additionally, AIPS cannot accept the behavior of coaches and players who have refused to speak with journalists representing BeIn during international events. L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports tifraħ lil Clifton Grima u tirringrazzja lil Chris Agius

Il-Kumitat Eżekuttiv tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports (Malta Sports Journalists Association) jilqa' b'sodisfazzjon d-deċiżjoni tal-Gvern li jerġa' jaħtar Segretarju Parlamentari responsabbli mill-Isport. L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports publikament tjirringrazzja lill-Onorevoli Chris Agius li ħadem id f'id mal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports f'dawn l-aħħar tliet snin kemm kien ilu jokkupa l-karika ta' Segretarju Parlamentari responsabbli mir-Riċerka, Innovazzjoni, Żgħażagħ u Sport. Il-Kumitat Eżekuttiv tal-GħĠS jawgura lil Onr.r Aguis wara li reġa' kien elett fil-Parlament Malti u jawguralu fil-kariga ġdida bħala Segretarju Parlametari responsabbli mis-Suq tal-Propjeta'. Fl-Istess waqt l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport tifraħ lil Dr Clifton Grima li kien maħtur bħala Segretarju Parlamentari responsabbli miż-Żgħażagħ, Sport u Għaqdiet Volontarji u tħares 'l quddiem b'ottimiżmu sabiex tkun estiża r-relazzjoni tajba li teżista bejn l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport, SportMalta u l-Gvern.

AIPS Europe President will be present for San Marino GSSE

  AIPS Europe President – Charles Camenzuli will be present for the XVII Edition of the Games of Small States of Europe due to be held in San Marino from the 29th. May – 3rd. June 2017. This marks to be the first official presence as AIPS Europe President for Mr. Camenzuli following his election during the 80th. AIPS Congress which was held in Seoul, Korea earlier this month. In December 2015 AIPS Europe had organized the end-of-year Executive Committee meetings in San Marino. AIPS Europe President, Charles Camenzuli is also the only journalist of having attended all the seventeen During the visit in San Marino, AIPS Europe President will also address the meeting of the AIPS Europe-GSSE Media Working Group which is due to meet at the MPC during the Games .   Dear AIPS friends, This is Heedon Jung, the president of the Korea Sports Press Union (KSPU).
