Chaylon and Jake Castaldi have been awarded the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for the month of October 2022. Brothers Chaylon and Jake Castaldi, ages 14 and 12, respectively, participated in the Under 15 Category in this year’s Blackball World Championships in Albi, France. This category was made up of 15 doubles teams from 7 different countries, with France having 5 teams. The Castaldi brothers were declared Under-15 World Champions after seeing off French duo Bidault and Leuneau 3-0. The Maltese duo dominated the encounter to clinch the most important win. The trophy for the October 2022 Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month, together with the sports apparel voucher, were presented to Chaylon and Jake Castaldi by Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer and Matthew von Brockdorff Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Atlas Insurance. Chaylon u Jake Castaldi ingħataw l-unur tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Ottubru. L-aħwa Chaylon u Jake Castaldi li għandhom 14 u 12-il sena rispettivament, ħadu sehem fil-kategorija ta’ taħt il-15-il sena, fil-Kampjonati Dinjija tal-Blackball f’Albi, fi Franza. F’din il-kategorija kien hemm 15-il tim tad-doubles minn seba’ pajjiżi differenti, fejn Franza kellha ħames timijiet. L-aħwa Castaldi ġew iddikjarati Champions tad-Dinja ta’ taħt il-15-il sena, wara li għelbu l-isfida tal-koppja Franċiża Bidault u Luneau 3-0. Huma ddominaw dan il-konfront u kisbu din ir-rebħa ferm importanti. Qormi Daikin are the winners of the Super Cup sponsored by the Malta Journalists Association after seeing off GREE Sliema Hotsticks 3-0. This was a match between the champions and the knock-out winners and was also the curtain raiser of season 2022/23. The Yellow/Blacks held the initiative for most of the match and were worthy winners in the end. Juan Sarcia put Qormi ahead after a penalty corner with keeper Emile Borg beaten. In the second quarter no goals were scored but in the third one, Qormi started brightly as Kyle Micallef doubled the score after only 30 seconds. The fourth quarter saw Qormi control the proceedings as they added another one through Steve Tanti as he took advantage of a rebound to rubberstamp their victory. At the end of the encounter, executive member Robert Busuttil presented the cup to Daniel Ellul.
