Sejħa għan-nominazzjonijiet għat-TGS Fair Play Award Lulju – Settembru 2024

L-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sport u l-Malta Fair Play Movement qegħdin jevalwaw kull dħul relatat mal-kunċett ta’ Fair Play li l-assoċjazzjonijiet, uffiċjali sportivi jew l-atleti jkunu ltaqgħu miegħu matul il-perjodu minn Lulju sa Settembru 2024. L-assoċjazzjonijiet u l-federazzjonijiet sportivi kollha, kif ukoll il-pubbliku ġenerali huwa mitlub jgħaddi dettalji ta’ ġrajjiet, kompetizzjonijiet, jew / u sessjonijiet ta’ taħriġ, fejn kien xhud ta’ att ta’ Fair Play. Barra minn dan, hu meħtieġ ukoll dettalji dwar l-atleta/i, tim/ijiet, jew uffiċjal/i. Huwa importanti illi n-nominazzjonijiet ikunu biss fuq azzjonijiet li juru ġesti ta' fair play waqt attività sportiva u mhux relatati ma' attivitajiet soċjali jew filantropiċi lil hinn mill-isport innifsu. In-nominazzjonijiet għandhom jintbagħtu permezz ta' email lil info@maltasportsjournalists.com sa mhux aktar tard mill-25 ta’ Ottubru 2024.

Duncan Micallef wins the fourth IZIBET Elite Athlete Award for 2024

National Lottery plc and the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) are pleased to announce that Duncan Micallef won the fourth IZIBET Elite Athlete Award for 2024, covering the months of July and August. On Friday 9th August, the Maltese Drag Racer Duncan Micallef was again confirmed as the fastest driver in Europe during the third round of the FIA Top Fuel Drag Racing Class in Tierp, Sweden. Micallef shattered his record and set a new European Record of an astounding 3.79 seconds, and the impressive European Speed Record of 321.4 MPH. Duncan Micallef led the Championship till the last race where he ended in second place only four points behind the Swiss driver Jndia Erbacher. National Lottery plc u l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports, bi pjaċir iħabbru li Duncan Micallef rebaħ ir-raba' unur tal-IZIBET Elite Athlete Award li jkopri x-xhur ta’ Lulju u Awwissu 2024. Nhar il-Ġimgħa 9 ta’ Awwissu, is-sewwieq Malti tad-Drag Racing Duncan Micallef ġie kkonfermat bħala l-aktar sewwieq veloċi fl-Ewropa fit-tielet rawnd tal-FIA European Drag Racing Championship li sar f’Tierp l-Iżvezja. Micallef kiser ir-rekord tiegħu, waqqaf rekord Ewropew ġdid ta’ 3.79 sekondi kif ukoll waqqaf rekord Ewropew b’veloċità ta’ 321.4 mili fis-siegħa. Sandro Micallef resigns as MSJA’s President – Clinton Buhagiar takes position as interim President

Sandro Micallef has stepped down as President of the Malta Sports Journalists Association (MSJA) citing personal and professional reasons. The announcement was made during the 2024 Annual General meeting which was held on Thursday. Micallef had been serving in the role of President of the MSJA for the past 7 seven years and his second term was due to come to an end in August 2025, however in the interest of the Association he decided to resign with immediate effect. He had been elected in the role of President on 10th July, 2017 and had been confirmed in the role 4 years later in the Association's AGM on 6th October, 2021. Previously he had also occupied the role of General Secretary of the Association and also served as an exco member in his early years in sports journalism.
