Th Executive committee of the Malta Sports Journalists Association organised an activity to commemorate the 50th anniversary since the foundation way back in 1970. Among those present for this event were active and veteran sports journalists who gathered for this special occasion.  Two founding members, namely Joe Cutajar and Leonard Zammit were also among the attendees. During his speech, the President of the MSJA Sandro Micallef thanked all his predecessors; Fr. Hilary Tagliaferro, the first President in 1970 who was followed by the late Henry Calleja, and Charles Camenzuli, who was the third President of the association. Sandro Micallef said that this celebration had to be postponed from last year due to the pandemic, but the committee still wanted to organise this important activity to honour and recognize those who contributed towards the development of sports journalism in Malta. Qormi Daikin rebħu l-ewwel unur tal-istaġun 2021/2022 meta fil-Kumpless tal-Hockey f’Kordin huma għelbu lil GREE Sliema Hotsticks 4-2. Din kienet sa ċertu punt vendetta sportiva tal-Qriema li kienu għadhom ġejjin minn telfa drammatika ta’ 3-2 kontra l-istess avversarji fil-finali tal-kompetizzjoni Knock-Out ġimgħa ilu. Din id-darba it-tim immexxi minn Andre Ghio kien iffukat u stabilixxa vantaġġ tajjeb fl-ewwel żewġ quarters li għenuh jieħu r-rebħa finali. Kien ukoll il-bidu ta’ staġun ġdid wara li l-ġimgħa l-oħra ntemmu l-kompetizzjonijiet uffiċjali tal-istaġun 2020/2021. Qormi skorjaw żewġ gowls fl-ewwel quarter permezz ta’ Matthijs Bartelts u Steve Tanti. Fit-tieni quarter, Bartelts żied ieħor għall-Qriema sabiex għaqqad doppjetta personali b’Matteo Forani jiskorja r-raba’ gowl u Chris Agius inaqqas il-marġni tal-iskor. Qormi Daikin got hold of the first title of the season after beating GREE Sliema Hotsticks 4-2, in the final played at the Hockey Complex in Corradino. This win for Qormi came after a dramatic defeat of 3-2 against the same Sliema Hotsticks in last week's Knock Out Final. The team led by coach Andre Ghio was more focused and obtained a good advantage in the first two quarters, which helped them win this final. The Super Cup Final was, therefore, the start of a new season after the 2020/21 officially closed last week. Qormi scored twice in the first quarter through Matthijs Bartelts and Steve Tanti. Lijana Sultana ngħatat l-unur tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħa tax-Xahar għal Ottubru. Sultana li għandha 14-il sena rebħet il-kampjonat nazzjonali tan-nisa tal-isquash li kien sar fil-Marsa Sports Club. Fil-finali, hija għelbet lil Kimberley Galea 11-6, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8. Dan is-suċċess huwa t-tieni miksub minnha, wara li ddefendiet it-titlu tal-Under-19 Junior kontra Julian Scerri bl-iskor ta’ 11-7, 12-10, 11-4.
