Jake Castaldi and Steven Muscat win the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for November 2023

Jake Castaldi and Steven Muscat have been awarded the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for November.

Castaldi and Muscat were crowned European champions in the U15 and U18 categories, respectively, and were part of Malta's U18 Team A, also crowned champions during the European Blackball Championships held in Malta between the 1st and 8th November.

Jake Castaldi won the U15 category final against the Welsh player Mason Lorey 6-1. On the other hand, Steven Muscat won the U18 final against the English player Solly Simpson 6-3. Malta U18 Team A won the final match as they took the decisive winning frame England A with a score of 13-12.

The trophy for the November 2023 Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month together with a sports apparel voucher were presented to the winners by Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer of Atlas Insurance. The Malta Sports Journalists Association was represented by Executive Committee Member Mark Muscat.

This award is a joint initiative of the Malta Sports Journalists Association and Atlas Insurance. The adjudicating panel of this award takes note of all the youth athletes’ achievements during the month under review and at the same time it invites local sport associations and federations to send in their nominations for consideration if they feel that any of their under-21 athletes have distinguished themselves during that month.

Jake Castaldi u Steven Muscat jirbħu l-premju Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Novembru 2023

Jake Castaldi u Steven Muscat ingħataw l-unur tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Novembru. Castaldi u Muscat huma ċ-champions Ewropej tal-blackball fil-kategoriji ta’ taħt il-ħmistax u t-tmintax-il sena rispettivament. Huma kienu wkoll kienu parti mit-tim Malta A ta’ taħt it-tmintax-il sena li wkoll saru champions waqt il-Kampjonati Ewropej tal-Blackball organizzati f’pajjiżna bejn l-1 u t-8 ta’ Novembru.

Jake Castaldi sar champion ta’ taħt il-ħmistax-il sena meta fil-finali għeleb lill-plejer minn Wales Mason Lorey 6-1, filwaqt li Steven Muscat sar champion ta’ taħt it-tmintax-il sena meta fil-finali ħareġ rebbieħ kontra l-Ingliż Solly Simpson 6-3.

It-trofew tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Novembru 2023, flimkien mal-voucher t’abbiljament sportiv abbinat ma' dan il-premju, ġew ippreżentati lir-rebbieħa minn Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer ta’ Atlas Insurance. F’isem l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports kien hemm preżenti l-Membru tal-Kumitat Eżekuttiv Mark Muscat.

Dan il-premju ta' kull xahar jingħata b'inizjattiva konġunta tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports flimkien ma' Atlas Insurance. Il-panel li jiġġudika r-rebbieħa ta' dan il-premju jieħu nota tas-suċċessi miksuba matul dak ix-xahar u fl-istess ħin jistieden lill-assoċjazzjonijiet u federazzjonijiet sportivi sabiex jibagħtu n-nomini tagħhom. In-nominati li jiġu evalwati jridu jkunu taħt il-21 sena.
