Liam Daly wins the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for December 2023

Liam Daly has been awarded the Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month Award for December.

Daly, who is only 13 years old, is a triathlete with the Gozitan Club Shamrock Stars. In December, he was awarded by Triathlon Ireland for finishing first in the 12/13-year-old category in both the Youth Series and the National Championship in Ireland. The presentation was held during a ceremony at the Sport Ireland Campus.

In October, he was the youngest Maltese swimmer to complete a swim of 11 kilometres.

The trophy for the December 2023 Atlas Youth Athlete of the Month together with a sports apparel voucher were presented to Daly by Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer of Atlas Insurance. The Malta Sports Journalists Association was represented by Administrator Stephen Azzopardi.

This award is a joint initiative of the Malta Sports Journalists Association and Atlas Insurance. The adjudicating panel of this award takes note of all the youth athletes’ achievements during the month under review and at the same time it invites local sport associations and federations to send in their nominations for consideration if they feel that any of their under-21 athletes have distinguished themselves during that month.

Liam Daly ingħata l-unur tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Diċembru.

Daly, li għad għandu 13-il sena, huwa triatleta mal-klabb Għawdxi Shamrock Stars. F’Diċembru huwa ġie onorat minn Triathlon Ireland, hekk kif spiċċa fl-ewwel post fil-Kategorija 12/13-il sena kemm fil-Youth Series u anke fil-Kampjonat Nazzjonali li sar fl-Irlanda. Huwa kien ippremjat waqt ċerimonja li saret fi Sport Ireland Campus.

F’Ottubru li għadda huwa kien sar l-iżgħar tifel f’pajjiżna li qatt wettaq għawma ta’ 11-il kilometru.

It-trofew tal-Atlas Atleta Żagħżugħ tax-Xahar għal Diċembru 2023, flimkien mal-voucher t’abbiljament sportiv abbinat ma' dan il-premju, ġew ippreżentati lil Daly minn Matthew von Brockdorff CEO & Direttur Maniġerjali ta' Atlas Insurance flimkien ma' Robert Micallef, Chief Commercial Officer ta’ Atlas Insurance. F’isem l-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports kien hemm preżenti l-Amministratur Stephen Azzopardi.

Dan il-premju ta' kull xahar jingħata b'inizjattiva konġunta tal-Għaqda Ġurnalisti Sports flimkien ma' Atlas Insurance. Il-panel li jiġġudika r-rebbieħa ta' dan il-premju jieħu nota tas-suċċessi miksuba matul dak ix-xahar u fl-istess ħin jistieden lill-assoċjazzjonijiet u federazzjonijiet sportivi sabiex jibagħtu n-nomini tagħhom. In-nominati li jiġu evalwati jridu jkunu taħt il-21 sena.
