The Malta Sports Journalists Association organised a well-attended seminar on Mobile Journalism, headlined by renowned video journalist and media expert Ms. Mabrouka Khedir. Organised to promote advancements in mobile journalism techniques, the event was attended by a diverse group of journalists and media professionals together with representatives from various local Sports Associations and Federations. The seminar proved to be an impactful event, offering valuable insights and practical discussions about mobile journalism in today’s fast-paced media environment.
Ms. Mabrouka Khedir, an accomplished journalist and international correspondent, shared her expertise in Mobile Journalism, focusing on environmental and investigative reporting. With experience at DW TV, TV5, and various international outlets, she brings a strong background in ecological journalism, bolstered by her bachelor’s in journalism and master’s in Discourse Analysis. Founder of Tunisia’s first ecological journalism platform, COSMOS Media, and owner of 4K Production, Ms. Khedir has directed numerous environmental documentaries.
Attendees had the opportunity to discuss topics such as mobile storytelling, the latest mobile tools for capturing and editing content, and strategies for impactful news reporting on mobile platforms. The interactive sessions encouraged knowledge-sharing and provided a unique platform for participants to exchange ideas.
This seminar, which was funded by the Small Initiatives Support Scheme, managed by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector and supported by the Ministry for Inclusion and Voluntary Sector, was an invaluable learning opportunity for Maltese journalists and media professionals. The event underscored the importance of mobile journalism and empowered participants to leverage new media tools for dynamic storytelling, especially in sports journalism and other specialised fields.
At the end of the seminar, the participants were presented a certificate of participation by the Malta Sports Journalists Association President Clinton Buhagiar and General Secretary Lorraine Cunningham.
